    Description

It’s only recently that doctors and therapists have become aware of the differences and the interactions between Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Even mild TBI, such as concussions, can have delayed and serious effects, and with advances in battlefield medicine, large numbers of veterans who might not have survived, or whose TBI might have gone undiagnosed, have now returned to civilian life. It is essential for therapists to know the signs and differences between TBI and PTSD; treating the wrong condition can range from ineffective to harmful. This intermediate level course will enable clinicians to recognize and differentiate between TBI and PTSD and to understand the neurobiological signs and effects of each.
